Who we are
Who we are, what we are – these are questions that buzz around my head. I’m asked for an “about us” to upload onto this website we’re designing. I don’t know what to say, I’m not too sure who I am, or who we are, or what we are or – if you like – what we want to be. But that isn’t the problem – the problem is how to express it in words, how to be able to phrase it, capture it in a few words, in the minimum number of words that the electronic/virtual world we live in today demands as a way of being permanently pigeonholed.
We stand for freedom
The Shire Overland 4x4 – we stand for sensations, thrills, experiences, dreams, desires, friendship, complicity, comradeship, eccentricity – and, if you like, we even stand for joie de vivre, but above all – or at least this is what we strive for – we stand for freedom.
The way we live means our 4x4s, our old bangers - our beloved and, at times, despised Land Rovers and Santanas. So different yet so similar, they all seem alike, but none is the same as the next one; each one is one of us, it’s part of ourselves, it’s one more feature of our personality.
Expeditions and adventures
The way we live means our 4x4 journeys, our routes, our expeditions, our adventures, and our misfortunes too. Any time we get a few days off, whenever we can sneak off for a few days, we head off on some little route along some tracks, wherever we can or wherever the fancy takes us.
There’s not much more for me to add about us, about me, about what this website is, about the “about us” on this website. The aim of this website to simply be a way of expressing who we are, how we live, what we are…a way of showing what we are.
And so - welcome, come in, make yourself comfortable and, enjoy our experiences with us as much as you can.

Here you will find photos, videos, video-blogs, blogs and news about our journeys, about our adventures, about our misfortunes, about our dreams, about our thrills, about our desires, about our frustrations, about our old bangers, our machines, about our cars, about a bit of everything – but over and above all, about our friendship, about our complicity and our striving for freedom.
I’d like to be able to convey our sensations, above all our sensations, via this website, via our photos, blogs, and videos. We’d like to make sure that, when you visit the website, when you see the photos and videos, when you read the blogs, we’re able to convey to you what you could also feel – the sensations you might also feel when you gain the experiences we show you.
This website is simply our way of sharing with you – whoever you may be – the way we are, the way we live, our way of feeling free.
